Gordon Head Fastball Club (GHFC) is a registered British Columbia Non-Profit Society since 1992, although the history of softball and baseball at Majestic Park dates back many years. The club strives to provide recreational and competitive softball opportunities for youth of all ages.
GHFC is a member of South Vancouver Island (SVI) Minor Fastpitch Association and we are a member in good standing of the BC Amateur Softball Association, which is the official Provincial Sport Organization for Softball/Fastball in B.C.
GHFC is not restricted by geographical boundaries, so players from throughout Greater Victoria can play softball with us. New players are always welcomed and encouraged to play. Eligible families can receive funding from KidSport to cover registration and other fees.
SOFTBALL AT MAJESTIC PARK:
LITTLE LEAGUE ORIGINS
According to the Victoria Express newspaper, softball at Majestic Park started on May 7, 1974, when the Saanich Girls' Little League opened its first season. A year later in 1975, Majestic Park was hosting its first major girls tournament. Check out the news articles below for some more softball history at Majestic Park.
The Club would also like to acknowledge the ongoing support of the Optimist Club of Victoria, whose sponsorship dates all the way back to that 1974 inaugural season! Thank you Optimists!
