Volunteer with GHFC
volunteering is part of ball!
Gordon Head Fastball Club (GHFC) is a non-profit, volunteer run organization and proud to provide youth in our community with a great place to play softball. Volunteers are a critical part of the Club's success; the more people who contribute the stronger the club becomes. If you have any questions about volunteering here at GHFC please contact us.
There are two kinds of volunteering with GHFC; club and team:
Club Volunteering
Club volunteering supports the operations of GHFC as a whole. In addition to positions on our board of directors, there are many volunteer opportunities available with the club. Prior to the season there are park cleanup day(s), general maintenance, organizing opening ceremonies, and uniform distribution. Throughout the season we have photo day, field maintenance, park clean up, recycling, and other opportunities around the park. As the season winds down there is our closing ceremonies/fun events to organize and run, and equipment collection. These are just some of the opportunities around the park where volunteers are needed.
Parents will be able to sign-up for volunteer commitments on our website starting in January each year. These volunteer positions will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you do not see something that suites your skill set, please let us know as we will be happy to work with you to find a volunteer opportunity.
Team Volunteering
Team volunteering supports your child's specific team(s) and include home game field preparation and scorekeeping. Because games cannot happen without team volunteering, all parents and caregivers are required to participate.
Typically the team manager either assigns each family their share of individual team volunteering, or provide a sign up opportunity for families at the start of each season. Duties include home game field preparation and scorekeeping.
Club volunteer duties and Team volunteer duties are separate.
